A friend of mine brought back coloured plastic mermaids from the US, which were for decorating cocktails. I thought I’d use them to pay a small homage to the films of Esther Williams, the kaleidoscopic choreographies of Busby Berkeley and the mestizo music of Xavier Cugat: School of sirens.
